Jim is back at work!

Jim:  Last Thursday, Jim went back to work!  He is working full-time, but if he gets tired they are fine with him going home early.  However, so far, he is just the regular “after work” tired, not that awful “fatigue” tired.  One of Jim’s friends came over to see him and said he expected to see a “skinny, bald guy.”  🙂  Jim is so happy to be back at TRS.

Making sure Jim is still eating good food has been the hardest part of going back to work.  We found a place in Austin, My Fit Foods, where we buy his lunches.  (In the same shopping center as the Great Harvest Bread Company where we have recently been buying our bread.)  Plus, he has another bag full of fruit, nuts and Ensure.

Jim’s platelets only went up 3 more points to 46 this week.  His white blood cells are still really low, so no fresh foods from restaurants and I hand-wash each spinach leaf we eat at home.  A bit OCD, but I’m not going to be resopnsible for getting him sick.  His hemoglobin is rising nicely which probably explains why his energy level rivals his daughter’s!

Sweet Sarah:  It was bound to happen sometime.  She finally discovered the word “no.”  Most of the time she says it so sweetly, and while smiling, that it’s really hard not to laugh.  (Click on “No” to hear Sarah. 😉 The “pumpkin” is pumpkin bread.)  The rest of the time it’s an absolutely-not-I’m-becoming-a-dead-weight-you-just-try-and-move-me kind-of a “no.”  She also loves the backyard.  She’ll stand at the backdoor and push against it trying, with all her little might, to make it open.

I am so happy to hear that Jim is up to being back at work. How wonderful to be back in the throws of life!! Gives a new perspective to me about being able to do the stuff of life. And the incredible amount of thought and effort to make certain Jim stays healthy. The Morris family is an admirable team working together. And I loved the picture of Sarah. I cannot believe how much she has grown and I loved the audio of her very independent spirit!! How could she not have great spirit and soul..its in her DNA!
