Remission

Jim is in remission!  We met yesterday with Dr. DeLeon to discuss the results of the CT scan.  Dr. DeLeon’s first comment was that Jim’s scans looked great.  There was no change from the last two CT scans.  He also said that the fact that Jim’s liver was clear was, “nothing short of a miracle.”  When Jim asked if he could tell his mother that he was in remission, Dr. DeLeon smiled and said, “yes, you could tell her that.  I would consider this remission.”

His blood counts are rising very slowly, so we don’t know yet if his bone marrow was permanently damaged.  But, that is something we can deal with!  Jim will continue to be monitored.  He will go in monthly for lab work, have an endoscopy in June and a PET scan in July.

Thank you to everyone for their love, support and prayers!
