Next: Echocardiogram

Jim will have an echocardiogram on December 9th.  This is to check how healthy his heart is currently, and to provide background info because Jim is about to push the limit on taking the chemo Epirubicin.  During the next few rounds of chemo, there is a small percent chance of permanent damage to Jim’s heart.  However, we believe the risk is worth it.  He will be monitored, and if there is damage, there is medicine he can take.  Jim really feels he has nearly rid himself of the cancer, and “doesn’t want to stumble this close to the finish line.”  Even the taste of that one drug, isn’t as strong as it once was.  I know Jim has a huge heart – pray it’s just as strong too.
